Ok so I was wrong, I thought because it was allowed the votes were that way, regardless...they are allowed, the two ply bench shirts that is, and thats the bottom line. Lots of folks pointing out the fact I was wrong about the vote, but I have yet to seee a reply with substance on why not allow two ply suits now that two ply shirts are allowed? Just does not make sense to me. Either way I will go with the flow and support the decision.

Rock you are an asset to lifting and to WABDL. In this regard the most substance I can offer you is to call Gus since he makes the decisions.

Hudson wrote:The vote was OVERWHELMINGLY in favor of single-ply. Call Gus and he can give you the numbers. He decided to allow a double-ply division in part so as not to alienate those lifters who voted for double-ply. The results of the vote were clear: the overwhelming majority of members who voted did not want double-ply.

As for other forums, if they are not WABDL members and they did not participate in the voting, then their opinions--while I do respect them--simply don't matter in this case.

Yeah I got this info in the above post, thanks for making sure I got it ok. Regardless, as I have posted, two ply bench shirts are allowed, love it or hate it.

I might be wrong but my understanding is that because two ply denim shirts were allowed for many years and the fact that over one hundred lifters voted for double ply shirts, I think Gus decided to allow the double ply shirts for those guys that have used them in the past. On the other hand double ply squat/dead suits have never been allowed, and therefore I don't think that the decision to not allow double ply squat/dead suits is a bad one.

what is the big deal about two-ply most people do not even use them.I personaly do not get anymore out of a double.I try the double shirt and mabe added 20lbs.at what cost 50 more dollars and my shoulders hurting now due to the no give in the shirt.I think we will just see rise in injurys this year, not numbers.the gear is not like it used to be,you could have a 3ply poly and still touch.
